Special Features:
McPherson Laboratories Omega-3 Fish Oil is produced from crude oils
selected to give the highest available content of EPA and DHA and the best
possible ratio between these two fatty acids for the finished product. The
crude oils are analyzed and controlled for pesticides and heavy metals
before they are accepted. The crude oil originate mainly from fish families
such as Sardines, Anchovy and Mackerel.
Special treatment processes include deacidification, winterization,
molecular distillation, bleaching, deodorization and antioxidant addition.
Resulting in no detectable levels of heavy metals and pesticides in the
finished product.
|
Suggested Usage: As a dietary supplement, take 2 softgels 1 to 3 times daily
with meals.

Special Treatment Processes:
Crude Oil: Highest available content of EPA and DHA and
the best possible ratio between these two fatty acids:
Deacidification: Free fatty acids are removed and extracted in soap
solutions. The soaps are removed in a separator, washed with water and
continuously dried under vacuum at a temperature not exceeding 100°
C.
Winterization: In order to ensure that the oil stays clear during the
whole shelf life, the oil is cooled down under controlled conditions. The solid,
crystalline matter which is formed is then removed by filtering. The criteria is
that the oil shall remain clear after 3 hours at 0° C.
Heavy Metal Removal (Molecular Distillation): The oil is molecular
distilled. Analysis show that during molecular distillation and other processes
any content of pesticides and heavy metals are reduced to below the detection
limits of the commonly used analysis methods.
Bleaching: Bleaching earth (Natural Clay) is added to the oil and the oil
is filtered to remove the bleaching earth together with color components and
oxidation products. This step reduces the Peroxid and Anisidin values and give a
clear and light yellow oil.
Deodorization: Volatile components responsible for the unpleasant taste
and smell are stripped off with steam during heating at low pressure. The result
is an oil with almost no flavor and odor.
Antioxidant: Antioxidant in the form of natural tocopherols (Natural
Vitamin E) is added according to specifications.
