Frequently Asked Questions:

What is McPherson® Natural Progesterone Cream made from?
McPherson®  Natural Progesterone Cream is derived from natural sources (soy beans).
How often should I use the Natural Progesterone cream?
Twice daily. Before bedtime is a good time. Most women prefer to use the cream after showering in the morning as well.
How much Natural Progesterone cream should I use?
One-fourth TEASPOON with each application. Our two ounce jar should last at least four weeks.
Can I use more Natural Progesterone Cream?
Not really. The ingredients in the cream are absorbed by the fat cells in your body. Hormones are VERY powerful; a little goes a long way. Your fat cells typically reach overload quickly. If you apply more than 1/4 teaspoon, your body probably will not be able to absorb it. However, it is good for your skin.
Can I put my hand directly into the jar?
Yes, if you wash your hands first. If you are worried about bacteria growing in the jar after you have used it for a while, use a measuring spoon to scoop out the cream instead of your hands.
Can I use the Natural Progesterone Cream cream all month?

That depends. If you are a man, yes, you may.

If you are a woman, absolutely not. Menstruating women should start using the cream twice daily on day 8 of their menstrual cycle. (The day you get your period is day 1.) Continue using the cream until the onset of your next period. Do not use the cream from the day you get your period until day 8.

Women who have hysterectomies or who have already gone through menopause still only need to use the cream for three weeks each month. For these women, start the cream on the eight day of the month. Use the cream until the last day of the month. Then do not use the cream until the eighth day of the next month.

Where should I put the cream?

Your body absorbs the cream best when used on soft skin. Hands and feet for example are too rough.

Users get the best results if the rotate where they place the cream. Research has shown the body can only absorb the ingredients in the progesterone cream once every fourth day. It is very important to follow the four day rotation period for the best results.

Here is a suggested rotation. You can certainly devise a system that works best for you.

Morning Bed time
Day 1 Neck Upper  Chest
Day 2 Breasts Torso
Day 3 Stomach Inner thighs
Day 4 Buttocks Inside the elbows
Day 5 Behind the knees Inside the arms
Day 6 Neck Upper chest, etc.
Both men and women can use the cream on their genitals as well. Just make sure you follow the every fourth day rule.
Will the Natural Progesterone Cream make my breasts grow?
There have been many documented cases of women who have increased one cup size using the cream. But there are no guarantees. One thing is certain. Do NOT put the cream on your breasts every day. Once every fourth day is the maximum.
I do not want my breasts to grow. Can I still use the Natural Progesterone cream?
Absolutely. Just skip the breasts as part of your rotation.
Can I use the Natural Progesterone cream if I want to get pregnant?
Yes. Since progesterone can inhibit fertility, do not start using the cream until day 15 of your cycle. This is the day after you ovulate when it is biologically impossible to conceive. Use the cream until you get your period and then start again on day 15.
Is the cream a good form of birth control?
Progesterone is a natural form of birth control. However, we recommend you use another form of birth control and use the cream as a back up only.
Can I use the cream when I nurse?
Yes. It will help your body return to its normal hormonal levels. If you are putting the cream on your breasts, do it right after you nurse the baby.
Will the Natural Progesterone cream help my menstrual cramps?
Yes. Apply 1/8 teaspoon of the cream to the abdomen every 30 minutes until the pain subsides.
This is the one exception to the rule that you do not use the cream during your period. The cream may be used for pain relief during days 1 through 8.
Will the Natural Progesterone Cream help muscular soreness?
Yes. Apply 1/8 teaspoon of the cream to the aching area every 30 minutes until the pain subsides.
Will the cream help with my headaches?
Yes. Both men and women have reported that the cream is effective in alleviating headache pain, including migraines. Apply 1/8 teaspoon of the cream to the back of the neck and the temples every 30 minutes until you get relief. If you get frontal headaches, apply the cream to your forehead.
Will the Natural Progesterone Cream help me with hot flashes?
Yes. Hot flashes are caused when you have too much estrogen in relation to progesterone. By raising your progesterone levels, you correct your estrogen/progesterone ratio. This should alleviate the discomfort of hot flashes
Will the Natural Progesterone Cream help me with my mood swings?
Yes, for the same reason. Mood swings are caused by an estrogen/progesterone imbalance. You can mitigate them by correcting the ratio with the cream.
How soon can I expect results?

Many users experience results their first menstrual cycle. Most women will enjoy noticeable benefits within 60 days.

What do I do if the cream does not work for me?
If you have followed these instructions and the cream still does not work, it indicates that your zinc/copper ratio is out of balance. Most American and western European women have too much copper and not enough zinc. Men, on the other hand, typically have too much zinc and not enough copper. However, only a clinical lab test will be able to tell you about your copper and zinc levels.
You can correct this imbalance by using the cream AND changing your diet.
What should I eat to make the cream work?
Most women need to eat more foods rich in zinc, which is one of the controlling nutrients for natural progesterone production. Lean protein has the greatest single impact on zinc absorption. Lean protein consists of lean meat, lean pork, chicken and turkey without the skin, fish, shellfish and eggs. Vegetarian sources include red beans, black beans, lentils, split peas, and black eye peas. You will experience the best results if you eat more of these foods all month, but especially during PMS week.
Most women should avoid foods high in copper. These include:
Almonds  Avocado  Baker’s yeast
Bran flakes  Brazil nuts  Chocolate
Crab Crab Liver
Lobster Haddock Herring
Mushrooms Pecans Pecans
Sesame Seeds Shrimp Sunflower Seeds
Trout  Walnuts
How do I know if I have too much copper?
Brown spots on your face and hands are a good sign. This means the liver has filtered out so much copper it is depositing the excess amounts in you skin. If your nipples turn from pink to brown without a sun tan, that is another sign of copper poisoning. If you have a constant craving for any food on the above list, there is a good chance you are toxic with copper.
However, these are guesses. A special lab test called Tissue Mineral Analysis will tell you scientifically exactly how much copper you have in your body. Ask your doctor about the test.
Can I use the Natural Progesterone cream if I am taking birth control pills?
Yes. However, it will not work as fast because birth control pills contain copper. Generally, copper is the cause of PMS and menstrual distress.
Can I use the Natural Progesterone Cream if I am on hormone replacement therapy?
Absolutely. Many of our customers do so well they eventually chose to discontinue using the manufactured hormones and just use the cream, a natural solution. Many women have successfully gone through menopause with a minimum of discomfort using only the cream - as long as their copper/zinc ratios are in balance.
