JointRecovery® w/ BioCell Collagen II® is scientifically formulated specially for
arthritis suffers. It promotes healthy joints and cartilage and relieve
chronic soreness and stiffness in joints and muscles. JointRecovery®
w/ BioCell Collagen II® contains high quality glucosamine hydrochloride, chondroitin sulfate,
patented BioCell Collagen II® derived form hydrolyzed chicken sternal
cartilage, Curcumin C3 Complex®, and hyaluronic acid. It also include a
proprietary blend of Vitamin C, pine bark extract, bromelain, zinc, silica,
boron and selenium. These
ingredients are selected for their synergistic action against osteoarthritis
and anti-inflammation properties.
Glucosamine HCl vs Glucosamine Sulfate 2KCl: Gram for gram, glucosamine
HCl provides more glucosamine (83%) than glucosamine sulfate 2KCl.(60%).
Therefore, 1,500 mg of glucosamine HCl provides 1,245 mg of glucosamine
whereas 1,500 mg of glucosamine sulfate.2KCl provides 900 mg of glucosamine,
or about 38% more glucosamine. You get a much better deal with glucosamine
HCl.
Chondroitin Sulfate is composed of repeating units of derivatives glucosamine sulfate with attached sugar molecules. Numerous studies
demonstrated the beneficial effects of chondroitin sulfate including
enhancing chondrocyte synthesis which is the natural way of rebuilding
cartilage. It promotes the production of synovial fluid which is the crucial
lubricant to the joint linings. It also slows the deterioration of joint
cartilage by inhibiting the damaging effects of various free radical enzymes
and enhances the supply of nutrients to arthritic joints by increasing the
blood flow to the joints.
BioCell Collagen II® - Hydrolyzed Chicken Sternal Cartilage Type II Collagen: When a specific joint has been
traumatized through sports, accident, surgery, etc., a specific localized
chronic joint problem may result which includes flaring up of rheumatism in
the joint. This rheumatism is a body immune-system complexity that blocks
the bioabsorption of glucosamine sulfate and chondroitin sulfate and the
joint repair benefits of Type I Collagen. For reasons not yet defined, Type
II Collagen found in Chicken Cartilage is able to bypass this immune system
barrier and provide positive improvements in joint pain and functionality.
BioCell Collagen II® is a patented form of hydrolyzed chicken sternal
cartilage Type II Collagen which is highly bioavailable.
Hyaluronic Acid (HA): Sudies suggested that HA had several effects,
including preservation of chondrocyte vitality and cartilage structure and a
reduction of synovial cell proliferation. HA moisturizes skin from the
inside out, smoothing out wrinkles in the process. HA acts as an internal
cosmetic to hydrate the skin. HA is for people who need to ease the flexing
of their joints, especially their knees, by restoring cushioning to their
joints. HA is for men and women in their 30s and 40s who are beginning to
see the first signs of aging. HA is for seniors who have established joint
conditions. Studies show oral HA supplementation provides these benefits to
most people after administration for only 2 to 4 months.
Bromelain, an extract from the pineapple plant, has been demonstrated to
show anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties and may provide a safer
alternative or adjunctive treatment for osteoarthritis. A recent study
looked at the effects of bromelain supplementation and its effects on
individuals with musculoskeletal injuries. Treatment with bromelain resulted
in a clear reduction of swelling, pain at rest, pain during movement, and
tenderness as compared with baseline. (Fortschr Med. 113:303, 1995.)
Pine Bark Extract: Proanthocyanidins, extracts from pine bark, act as
powerful anti-inflammatories. Proanthocyanidins bind with collagen fibers
and help alleviate pain and swelling associated with osteoarthritis.
Turmeric (Curcuma longa), a flowering plant in the ginger family, is
widely used as a food coloring and is one of the principal ingredients in
curry powder. Turmeric has long been used in both Ayurvedic and Chinese
medicine as an anti-inflammatory. The
active ingredient in turmeric is curcumin. We used a high quailty ingredient
Curcumin C2 Complex® which provides the prefered combination of curcuminoids.
Vitamin C: Recent study indicates that antioxidant Vitamin C may reduce
the risk of cartilage loss and inhibit the progression of disease in people
who have osteoarthritis. A threefold decrease in the risk of osteoarthritis
was found in the group with higher than average intake of Vitamin C. In
another study, it was demonstrated that Vitamin C enhanced absorption of glucosamine sulfate.
Zinc is required for the manufacture and maintenance of healthy cartilage
structure. Our body use zinc, along with copper to make an
inflammation-fighting enzyme called superoxide dismutase. This enzyme is
found in inflamed joints where it neutralizes free radicals. Zinc deficiency
allows accelerated joint degeneration. Supplemental zinc at appropriate
level may promote cartilage repair and synthesis.
Selenium is an antioxidant capable of slowing the rate of aging and
hardening of tissues caused by oxidation, and help to maintain youthful
elasticity in tissues. Selenium is helpful in fighting inflammation. It is
used in the body for the production of glutathione peroxidase, an enzyme
that works within joints to round up free radicals. Clinical studies show
that patients with rheumatoid arthrithis who took 160 g of selenium daily
for four months experienced significant improvement in joint movement and
strength compared with normal subjects receiving placebos. JointRecovery®
w/ BioCell Collagen II® contains organic selenium (L-selenomethionine) which is more readily
absorbed and has fewer side effects than other forms of selenium.
Silica is needed for healthy, flexible and resilient bones. Silica
facilitates bone remineralization, tissue firmness and strength, bone
formation, encourage vibrant hair, skin, and nails, and reduce the risk of
osteoporosis. Silicon, a component of silica, gives structure to all living
things throughout the plant and animal kingdoms. It is essential to the
human body and is found in the lungs, intestines and blood. Silicon gives
strength and support to all connective tissue, tendons and ligaments, skin,
hair and nails. Silicon works with calcium in bone formulation and bone
remineralization.
Boron: In areas of the world where people eat relatively high amounts of
boron—between 3 and 10 mg per day—the incidence of osteoarthritis is below
10%. However, in regions where there is less boron in the diet—1 mg or less
per day—the incidence of arthritis is much higher. In addition, the joints
of people with osteoarthritis have been found to contain less boron than
people without the condition. These observations have given rise to the
hypothesis that boron supplements might be helpful for people who already
have arthritis symptoms. (Newnham RE. Essentiality of boron for healthy
bones and joints. Environ Health Perspect. 1994;102:83-85. Travers RL,
Rennie GC, Newnham RE. Boron and arthritis: the results of a double-blind
pilot study. J Nutr Med. 1990;1:127–132.)
